The life story of a courageous and determined man who journeyed from heart-wrenching, deep darkness to God’s destiny:

It’s not often that a single life can echo the cries of brokenness, rise through the ashes of tragedy, and ultimately shine as a beacon of hope and divine grace. But such is the story of Rev. Dimuthu Daluwatte, the Chief Priest of the Faith Ministry of Christ Mission—a man who has journeyed through unspeakable pain only to be raised up by the unmatched power of God’s love.

Finding Peace, Purpose, and New Life: A Journey to Knowing God
In a fast-paced world filled with constant noise and uncertainty, many of us find ourselves searching for something deeper. We look for lasting peace, genuine purpose, and relationships that truly satisfy. We often wonder: Is there more to life than simply getting by?
The Bible reveals a profound truth: your desire for purpose and connection isn’t an accident. You were created intentionally by a loving God who knows you completely and invites you into an enduring relationship with Him.

God’s Purpose: Love and Abundant Life
God did not design humanity to live in anxiety, isolation, or moral confusion. His original plan for your life is rooted in deep love, spiritual peace, and fulfillment—both in this life and for eternity.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 (NIV)
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
John 10:10 (NIV)
If God created us to experience peace and abundant life, why do so many people experience spiritual emptiness and separation from Him?
The Human Condition: Separation and Self-Direction
God gave humanity the freedom of choice. However, rather than trusting His wise and loving guidance, we frequently choose to go our own way—setting our own rules and living independently of Him.
The Bible calls this attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference sin. Sin isn’t just limited to major crimes; it includes self-centeredness, pride, envy, dishonesty, and living as if God doesn’t exist. Because God is completely holy and morally pure, human sin creates a spiritual divide between us and Him.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:23 (NIV)
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (NIV)
The Limitation of Human Effort
Throughout history, people have tried to bridge this gap through good deeds, ethical living, personal philosophy, or religious rituals. While these efforts are admirable, they cannot erase our moral guilt or restore our broken relationship with a holy God. No amount of human effort can cross the divide.
Divine Provision: The Bridge of the Cross
Because we are unable to reach God through our own efforts, God acted on our behalf out of boundless love. He provided the only bridge across the divide by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the debt we could not pay.
Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, willingly died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins, and rose from the dead three days later. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus bridged the gap between humanity and God.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (NIV)
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (NIV)
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
John 14:6 (NIV)
Receiving Grace Through Faith
Knowing these historical facts intellectually is not enough. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace that must be personally received through trust and commitment. We receive Christ when we place our faith in Him as Savior and yield control of our lives to Him as Lord.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—”
John 1:12 (NIV)
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
Revelation 3:20 (NIV)
How You Can Receive Jesus Christ Today
You can accept Jesus Christ right now through a simple, sincere prayer. God is not looking for perfect words or religious performance; He looks at the honesty of your heart.
If it reflects your heart’s desire, you can pray a prayer like this:
“Lord Jesus, I need You. I admit that I have managed my own life and sinned against You. Thank You for loving me and dying on the cross to pay for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Forgive my past, take control of my life, and make me the person You created me to be. Thank You for giving me eternal life and peace. Amen.”
Steps for Spiritual Growth
Beginning a relationship with Christ is the start of an exciting journey. Just as physical life requires care and nourishment, spiritual life grows through daily habits:
- Pray Daily: Speak honestly with God each day, sharing your anxieties, joys, and requests with Him.
- Read the Bible: Spend time reading God’s Word daily to discover His promises and wisdom (a great place to start is the Gospel of John).
- Obey God: Put Christ’s teachings into practice in your daily relationships, work, and personal choices.
- Connect with a Church: Join a local, Bible-teaching Christian community for encouragement, fellowship, and worship.
- Share Your Hope: Tell others about the peace and new life you have found in Christ.
- Trust the Holy Spirit: Rely on God’s Spirit living inside you to guide, comfort, and empower you each day.
