Shape the Next Generation: Become a Sunday School Volunteer

The greatest investment the Church can make is in the hearts and minds of its children. In rural villages, plantation estates, and urban neighborhoods across Sri Lanka, hundreds of young lives are waiting for mentors who will show them the love of Christ, teach them God’s Word, and help them realize their divine purpose.

Faith Ministry of Christ is looking for passionate, committed believers to join our Sunday School & Children’s Discipleship Team. Whether you have professional teaching experience or simply carry a heart full of love and patience for children, your hands and voice can leave an eternal imprint on the next generation.

Where You Can Serve

Our Sunday School ministry operates across diverse cultural and geographic settings, opening up various avenues for service based on your gifts:

  • Bible Storytellers & Class Teachers: Lead age-appropriate lessons, scripture memorization, and interactive discussions that build strong theological and moral foundations.
  • Music, Worship & Creative Arts Facilitators: Guide children in action songs, indigenous hymns, simple instruments, Christian drama, and creative crafts that bring biblical truths to life.
  • Rural & Plantation Mission Volunteers: Travel with our mobile outreach teams to teach and encourage children in village house churches and plantation line communities.
  • Educational Mentors & Tutors: Assist underprivileged children with basic reading, writing, and schoolwork, helping to keep them engaged in school and breaking generational cycles of poverty.
  • Digital & Online Sunday School Helpers: Support our virtual children’s sessions by moderating online classrooms, managing media slides, and coordinating virtual activities for diaspora and remote families.

Who We Are Looking For

You do not need a formal theological degree to make a profound difference. We welcome volunteers who embody:

  • A Vibrant Faith in Christ: A personal, walking relationship with Jesus and an authentic desire to reflect His grace and patience.
  • Compassion for the Vulnerable: A heart that sees the dignity and potential in every child, particularly those growing up under hardship, poverty, or family distress.
  • Dependability and Consistency: A willingness to commit regularly so that children experience the safety of familiar, trustworthy mentors.
  • Commitment to Child Safety: A dedication to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and emotionally protective environment for every child entrusted to our care.

What We Provide

  • Orientation & Curriculum Materials: Practical training, structured lesson plans, craft supplies, and culturally contextualized teaching guides.
  • Pastoral & Team Mentorship: Ongoing support from experienced pastors, MEAL coordinators, and seasoned children’s ministry leaders.
  • A Community of Purpose: The joy of serving alongside fellow believers who share a vision for raising a resilient, faith-filled generation.
